Clinical Study of Posilane-Gel^(®) for Treatment of Gastritis in Patients of Department of Orthopedic Surgery

Abstract
|
|
|
The authors have conducted a clinical study to evaluate the effect of Posilane-Gel® to the 50 cases of the patients with gastritis induced by prolonged use of antiinflammatory drugs in the department of Orthopedic Surgery from April 1990,to October 1990. The treatment regimen was initiated with one dose of Posilane-Gel® orally three times a day with the addition of a further dose after the onset of the gastric pain.
Results were as follows
1. In 50 cases of the patients, male were 32(64%), female were 18(36%) and the average age was 42 years old.
2. The diagnosis were as follow
21 cases of back sprain(42%), 8 cases of herniated intervertebral disk(16%), 6 cases of spondylosis(12%), 6 cases of frozen shoulder(12%), 4 cases of spinal stenosis(8%), 3 cases of ankle sprain(6%), 2 cases of the other diseases(4%).
3. 3 weeks after oral administration of Posilane-Gel® there were marked relief of gastric pain in 94% of patients.
4. Side effects were not seen in any patient.
5. It is concluded that Posilane-Gel®appears to be a safe and tolerable drug having mucus protect and relieve the pain induced by anti-inflammatory drug.
